Delighting durian lovers for the 35th year running, Goodwood Park Hotel’s highly anticipated annual durian fiesta is back! From now till 22 July, indulge in a medley of all-time favourites and 12 new creations at the hotel’s deli. Meticulously handcrafted and featuring a generous amount of fresh durian pulp, the durian-centric pastries here celebrate the best of durian season in Singapore. New creations such as the D24 white chocolate raspberry dome ($13 for two pieces, $36 for six) combines raspberry with white chocolate and durian for a refreshing pop of flavour, while the D24 coffee glaze ($14 per slice, $78 per 1.2kg cake) is an earthy and deeply aromatic delight with D24 durian pulp layered atop a coffee sponge and covered with a smooth coffee glaze. Of course, all-time favourites such as the D24 puff ($9 for two pieces, $25 for six) and the D24 mousse cake ($13 per slice, $69 for a 1.2kg cake) make a return, as well as the D24 ice cream tub ($19 per 16 ounce tub).

Marriott Cafe brings durian season to a whole new level with its decadent Durian High Tea buffet. Enjoy savoury local delights such as oyster omelette, nasi lemak, bak kut teh, dim sum, and fresh seafood, followed by sweet durian offerings. The desserts here are crafted with premium Mao Shan Wang and D24 durians, whose exquisite flavour shines through in the likes of the luxurious durian bread and butter pudding. This treat comes with rich coconut sauce and creamy durian pulp tucked in between slices of buttery brioche. The moreish durian crème brûlèe, an addictive twist on the classic French dessert, is a delightful contrast of a crisp, golden layer and a fragrant durian custard, while the glutinous rice with durian and coconut cream combines chewy glutinous rice with coconut cream, topped with bittersweet durian puree. Other crowd-pleasers include durian mochi, durian crepes, durian panna cotta and durian ice cream. The buffet is available till 31 July. Every durian lover’s dream comes true this durian season at Le Meridien’s Du-licious Discovery buffet. A duo buffet concept is offered here: The durian pop-up stall buffet offers 1.5 hours of non-stop free-flow freshly-cracked premium durian, with varieties such as Mao Shan Wang, Red Prawn D24, and XO durians, while the durian buffet offers a wide selection of durian-inspired delights, with wacky but delicious offerings such as durian doughsticks, durian prata, durian pizza, and desserts such as durian mousse, durian choux puffs, and durian ice kacang. For those who can’t decide between the two, simply opt for both, and spoil yourself silly with the best offerings from both buffets! The buffet happens on Friday and Saturday nights, till 1st September. Prices are inclusive of free-flow juices, coffee, and tea.

Ellenborough Market Café
If there’s a place to start your meal with desserts, Ellenborough Market Café is it. An array of tropical fruits and durian-themed desserts take centre stage at the Tropical Fruits Temptation buffet this durian season. The likes of durian crêpes, durian éclairs, durian swiss roll, and the signature durian pengat round off the meal on an indulgent and utterly delicious note. Inventive takes on the fruit such as durian tarts, durian tiramisu, and durian cotton cheesecake are but some of the creations to look out for. For savoury dishes, there’s the usual medley of boldly flavoured Peranakan, Asian, and also other international cuisines. Feast on fresh seafood on ice such as prawns and baby lobsters as well as soul-satisfying local staples like sambal king prawn and wok-fried slipper lobster with black bean sauce. Authentic Peranakan classics that are expertly executed include kueh pie tee, ayam buak keluak, and babi pongteh. The dinner buffet runs from 2 – 29 July. Price: $72 (adults), $36 (children).
