With the Christmas season behind us, we thought that the gluttonous feasting was done and dusted like vinyl records from yesteryear but just as our stomachs decided to declare a holiday, here comes the Lunar New Year. Despite the protesting of our bloated bellies, we cannot help but secretly delight at any excuse to continue the revelry and indulgence. Especially when it comes to good food. Man Fu Yuan at InterContinental Singapore never fails to disappoint.

A curated collection of festive culinary masterpieces

Usher in the Year of the Pig with a curated collection of festive culinary masterpieces and delightful Lunar New Year goodies from now until 19 February 2019. From exquisitely crafted yusheng creations to indulgent feasts featuring signature delicacies, Lunar New Year celebrations at Man Fu Yuan this year promises to please even the most discerning palate.

Executive Chef Eric Neo and his team showcase eight auspicious menus at Man Fu Yuan (满福苑) this Chinese New Year. Available until 19 February 2019, the menus include perennial favourites and restaurant signatures, and are priced from $108 per guest. Chef Eric Neo excels at presentation, creating dishes that are visually marvellous and impressive.

A feast for the senses

The real show stopper is the 60-inch Prosperity Yu Sheng, a spectacular new creation, with abalone, Hokkaido scallops, salmon, crisp pork crackling and apple sauce dressing (亥星报 喜捞起), auspiciously shaped in the form of the Chinese character “hai” (亥), symbolizing the twelfth earthly branch that the pig is associated with in the sexagenary cycle. This dish stands out both visually and conceptually. Those looking for a more indulgent celebration can choose the eight-course Wealth prix-fixe menu (八方来财) which features yusheng with abalone, Hokkaido scallops and salmon; bird’s nest soup in pumpkin; braised five-head abalone with sea cucumber and flower mushrooms and lobster egg noodles with X.O. chilli sauce, among other delightful delicacies.

A stunning array of Chinese New Year goodies for takeaway

The award-winning Cantonese restaurant also presents a stunning array of Chinese New Year goodies for takeaway that are ideal as gifts or for celebrations at home. Guests may select from a showcase of exceptional highlights such as the Man Fu Yuan Abundance Treasure Pot brimming with over 18 choice ingredients such as 10-head abalone, fish maw, Hokkaido scallops, pig’s trotters and sea cucumber. The arrangement of flavours is well thought out and precise, making this dish a true winner.

Diners tired of the typical Lunar New Year fare will find a delightful respite here with their sumptuous offerings. The multifarious selections promise a decadent treat for all to start the Year of the Pig on a delicious note!
